TOP 20 Curriculum Hits Classrooms!
This year our counselors at South will be visiting 6th and 7th grade classrooms to provide social/emotional guidance to our students. The TOP 20 curriculum got it's name from a basic concept, "20% of people do 80% of the work. We want to help all of our students develop into one of the top 20% of individuals. When students are acting like a Top 20 they are utilizing their skills to Think, Learn, and Communicate with others in a more effective and productive way.
More specifically, this curriculum will:
- Help students discover their potential and use this awareness to become their best self
- Provide students with skills that will help them think differently about themselves and how they can be effective contributors to their relationships with others and the world around them
- Develop student character and focus on several Star Qualities: Creative, Self-Confident, Organized, Responsible, Outgoing, Self-Motivated, Persistent, Enthusiastic, Emotionally Aware, Self-Disciplined, Focused, Optimistic, Proactive, Courageous, and Spiritual
